Beer, bashing and betrothal…

Traveling with Adam has not only proved to be full of excitement, but filled with once-in-a lifetime experiences and adventures. It's crazy but amazing to think we've already been to 6 different countries in barely 6 months. Belatedly Budapest

It’s possible I’m bad luck. I have a habit of showing up in a country right as natural disasters strike; a typhoon here, an earthquake there, the odd tsunami. For my trip to Hungary I managed to arrive long about the time the country was being hit by deluge of red, toxic, industrial-waste sludge. I’m amazed anyplace still lets me visit. I was supposed to have come to Budapest 24 hours earlier, but circumstances in Munich required I stay an additional night, so I didn’t fly out of Germany until late Thursday. Budapest Distractions

Traveling behind the old Iron Curtain always has a bit of intrigue for me. Budapest, Hungary’s capital and economic center, is a beautiful city for the most part and oozes history. It also has the feel of one of those Radio Free Europe commercials I use to watch as a kid. It’s also one of those cities where I keep my wallet in my front pocket firmly gripped by my right hand.
