Ned O’Hearn

Ned is a commercial real estate broker specializing in site selection, investment sales and tenant representation at Boulders Realty Advisors in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Over his 30+ year career in commercial real estate, Ned has recruited companies around the world as Executive Vice President of ONCOR International, served as brokerage sales manager for Carter & Associates in Atlanta, and co-founded ReStar Advisors – an international group of top tier, good-humored, independent commercial brokers.

A former radio disc jockey and sports announcer, Ned also hosted a public affairs television program on Scottsdale’s CityCable 11. In 2000, he was elected to Scottsdale’s City Council where he served a four year term.

Ned holds a BA in English from The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts and a Master of City Planning degree from San Diego State University. As a Naval officer, he served aboard the Destroyer USS McKean (DD784) during the Vietnam War.

Growing up outside Boston, Ned is a longtime, diehard Red Sox fan. His wife of 37 years, Carol, is from Nebraska. Their first “baseball date” in the early 1970s was a twilight doubleheader in San Diego between the Padres and the Pittsburgh Pirates. The first game was high scoring and long. The nightcap went 17 scoreless innings before the Pirates scored on a bases loaded walk in the 18th. Ned had never left a ballgame early in his life and refused to leave, and Carol obligingly stuck it out (she was driving) until the 4:00 am finish and then went to work…while Ned stumbled off to bed.

Ned knew then that he had found a lifetime soul mate. Carol says she knew Ned was her future husband because he passed her pop quiz on Botticelli. (Apparently her boyfriends at college in Kansas thought he was a fullback with the Bears in the 1940s.)

Ned and Carol enjoy history, travel, American Indian Art and share a passion for polar bears. As you’ll discover in his blogs, it’s Carol who keeps Ned traveling…and laughing.
