Craig, After all these years, you can still make me laugh. Your comments are spot on. Be careful though, sounds like Justin isn't far from beating Dad at thumb wrestling. You should consult with "The Living Legend" Bruno Sammartino for some advice before its' too late.

Always interesting to read about visitors reactions.

Garridos is closer to 4th than 3rd on Nueces. And it is not truly Tex Mex.

Eddie V's is renowned mainly for its seafood, though the steaks are good.

Texas Anglo settlers were invited in by Mexico to fend off the French in LA. The Revolution was based on the desire of Anglos and Tejanos to return to the Mexican Constitution of 1821, a document that Santa Anna did not support.

Well, at least the surface was scratched.

Liked the references to boots. Yes, many of us like to wear boots, but most of us just wear them with jeans - unless you're in Austin. As for the history lesson, you forgot that Texas gained its independence from Mexico before it became a part of the United States. We were (and many here still think we are) a whole other country, sovereign and on its own. And Tejanos (anglo and hispanic) fought against the tyranny from Mexico City. Texas was much larger as an independent country than it is as a state today.

Groupo Fantasma was a funny choice for the typical IAMC delegate, but still a talented group of performers.

Sorry you didn't get to taste much in terms of traditional Tex-Mex or Mexican foods. Tortillas, frijoles, arroz (rice), and fajitas are a staple here as well! Don't forget the margaritas next time. Y'all come back now!
