Dreyfus Group acquires Biodiesel plants in Wittenberg-Piesteritz

The Louis Dreyfus Commodities Group (LDC) has purchased Gate Global Alternative Energy Inc. (Switzerland). With this acquisition and other agreements, the LDC now owns 100 percent of the ultra-modern oil mill, as well as the refinery for biodiesel and Pharmaglycerin in Wittenberg. The facility is currently being commissioned.

"We want to express our gratitude to the state of Saxony-Anhalt for its valuable support and look forward to a good partnership with both the country and the local farming community", says Richard Allen, Global Manager for vegetable oils and biodiesel in LDCs.

The facility has in the mill a processing capacity of 1,500 tonnes of canola a day and is capable of producing 250,000 tonnes of coarse colza meal and 200,000 tonnes of biodiesel per year.

The Louis Dreyfus Commodities Group since 1851 has been one of the leading stakeholders on the international commodity markets. The group operates mills all over the world.
