Big Bird: That outsized lad that's pictured on the right is "the world's largest penguin" - 27 feet (8.2 meters) tall and weighing in at 10,000 pounds (4,500 kilograms). See if you can name the city in which the penguin stands - and find out how it got there - in our new "Where in the World?"

Saxony-Anhalt – Technology heart SOLAR VALLEY

For some years now, unprecedented development has been taking place in Saxony-Anhalt's "Solar Valley." First came Q-Cells, the world's largest manufacturer of solar cells. Since starting in 2001, the company has produced more than 100 million solar cells. Five thousand total new jobs have been planned for this area by 2010. EverQ GmbH, which located here since 2005, is now planning to create another 500 jobs by building their third manufacturing plant. With 1,000 employees, EverQ is already manufacturing solar modules in "Thalheim Solar Valley" in a single technical step. Indeed, all well-known photovoltaic technologies are now represented in "Solar Valley."

Christian Langen, CSO EverQ GmbH: "The Solar Valley is a great environment for dynamic growth. This location boasts a well-skilled work force, and the regional authorities provide significant, non-bureaucratic support. Thalheim has proven to be a great home for EverQ. The Solar Valley enabled us to rapidly extend production capacities to serve our clients around the world."
