Where in the World? The unusual object that's pictured here, dear readers,
is "the world's biggest banjo." Can you name the city in which this rather bizarre item is located?
Finally, SiteNet Dispatch readers proved to be their usual geographically savvy selves in our last installment of Where in the World? As of Tuesday, March 4th, at 10:00 p.m. EST, 56.5 percent of readers had correctly identified Tijuana, Mexico as "the television manufacturing capital of the world." Saxony-Anhalt - Further Investment In The Centre Of European Flat Glass Industry
Scheuten-Group (Venlo/Netherlands) will build a 190 million euro flat glass production plant in Saxony-Anhalt, adding 260 employees. Production of the f-glass GmbH plant starts at the end of 2009. With factories and subsidiaries in Europe, Korea and the US, Scheuten will produce about 220,000 tons of flat glass per year in Saxony-Anhalt. Furthermore, a fabrication of heat protection glass and solar glass coatings is planned. "Our market is the entire European market," says Herbert Köhler, Managing Director of f-glass GmbH. "We decided to invest in Saxony-Anhalt because everything is just fine there - from the supply of resources up to the logistic connection." Saxony-Anhalt strengthens its position as a centre of the flat glass industry with sites in Wolfen (Guardian), Haldensleben and Osterweddingen (Euroglas). Saxony-Anhalt will supply about one-third of Germany's flat glass production and about 10 percent of Europe's.
